M2 SSD Benchmark y pruebas de rendimiento

¿Cuál es la mejor SSD? Aquí encontrarás pruebas de rendimiento y de velocidad detalladas para las nuevas SSD PCIe 4.0 NVMe de 4ª generación, así como para las más lentas PCIe 3.0. La velocidad máxima para PCIe 4.0 x4 es de 64 GBit/s – sin embargo, las tarjetas actuales alcanzan ‘sólo’ unos 7.000 MB/s. En cuanto a PCIe 3.0 x4, las tarjetas alcanzan unos 3.500 MB/s (medido con CrystalDiskMark). Las SSD con la nueva controladora Phison E18 alcanzan velocidades muy altas, y también son adecuadas para la PlayStation 5 como almacenamiento adicional.

Los SSD M.2 sustituyen definitivamente a los más lentos SSD SATA en la prueba de velocidad (estos pueden transferir un máximo de 600 MB/s). Ahora son el estándar en portátiles y hay al menos una ranura M2 en casi todas las placas base nuevas.

Tamaños

Las unidades SSD pueden tener distintas longitudes. Las denominaciones más comunes son 22110, 2280, 2260, 2242, donde las dos primeras cifras corresponden a la anchura y las siguientes a la longitud. Por ejemplo, 2280 denomina a una SSD con una anchura de 22 mm y una longitud de 80 mm.

Tipos de conexión (llaves)

Las tarjetas M.2 pueden tener diferentes asignaciones de pines (las llamadas llaves). Las tarjetas con la llamada B-Key sólo admiten SATA y PCIe x2, por lo que son lentas. La M-Key con 5 pines, en cambio, soporta PCIe x4 y puede explotar todo el rendimiento. Lo mejor es comprar sólo tarjetas con forma de conexión M-Key o con B+M-Key (se pueden conectar a ambas ranuras). B-Key y M-Key no son compatibles entre sí.

M.2. Keys

Tipos de conexión (SATA o PCIe)

Las tarjetas M.2 pueden conectarse a través de las interfaces SATA o PCI Express, aunque no se recomienda SATA debido a su velocidad más baja. Con PCIe 2.0, un máximo de 5 GBit/s por carril es posible. Con dos carriles (x2), el doble, es decir, 10 GBit/s. Con PCIe 3.0 se dispone de 8 GBit/s y con PCIe 4.0 de 16 GBit/s por carril. Esto significa que teóricamente 4 x 16 = 64 GBit/s son posibles. En la práctica, sin embargo, no se alcanzan estas velocidades de transmisión de datos, ya que cada paquete de datos tiene una sobrecarga.

Información sobre flash NAND

Las unidades SSD utilizan distintos tipos de memoria flash. Una celda de memoria puede almacenar entre uno (SLC) y cuatro (QLC) bits. Cuantos más bits por celda se pueden almacenar, mayor es la densidad de almacenamiento y más barato suele ser la unidad. SLC es el tipo de memoria más rápido (ya que sólo hay que distinguir dos valores de tensión durante el proceso de lectura) y al mismo tiempo tiene la vida útil más larga, de hasta 100.000 ciclos de escribir/borrar. Sin embargo, este tipo es también la memoria flash más cara.

Actualmente existen cuatro tipos de memoria: Single Level Cell (SLC), Multi-Level Cell (MLC), Triple Level Cell (TLC) y Quadruple Level Cells (QLC).
